My Background

I come from a long line of real estate professionals, from my father and older brother, who were both brokers, to my cousins and uncle, who are real estate developers in California. I grew up with an especially deep admiration for my father, who worked in residential real estate. He’s a wonderful man and very good with people, and I used to watch how he helped his clients, being so careful and considerate with people as he guided them through the process of buying or selling a home. I got into this business because I admired this man who I could see was truly helping people.

As a shy person by nature, I feel that this profession is a perfect fit for me. I really love the one-on-one nature of working closely with clients, developing a rapport, and then working independently to help them with their marketing or home-buying efforts. I love the balance that this work gives me, so that I’m able to spend time with my family and dogs, and it gives me time to enjoy my other passion: competitive racquetball. When I’m not out working, chances are I’m playing racquetball. I’ve been playing at the tournament level for 30 years, even after three back surgeries!

Community Involvement

My passion for community has led to my regularly donating to the Humane Society, and Children’s Miracle Network, two causes I believe deeply in.

  1. The most difficult part of writing this memo is trying to not sound like a paid advertisement for Kelly Werner.  However the factual truth should be told.
  2. Any Real Estate agent can write a listing for MLS, Zillow, Trulia, etc.  It is what happens after the property is listed and through to the closing that is important.  In this regard, Kelly Werner is exceptional.  She was the listing agent for my home in the Fieldcreek area of Reno and her performance was above and beyond what should be expected of any real estate agent.
  3. At one point I was absent from Reno for three months.  Ms Werner took it upon herself to periodically inspect my home and ensure all was in order.  She volunteered her time and expense and refused any compensation.

4.Anyone who was in Reno for the winter of 2017 knows of the numerous violent storms that hit the area.  One storm dislodged some of the tiles on my roof, resulting in water leaking down into the kitchen.  Kelly was on it immediately, saw to it that temporary repairs were effected that day and arranged for permanent repairs once the weather allowed roofers a full day of access to accomplish final repairs.

  1. Kelly Werner knows Reno. She did her homework and suggested a listing price that was fair and equitable to both seller and buyer.
  2. As a homeowner of many, many years, I believe I know my responsibilities.  In this case I never needed to concern myself with anything.  If something needed to be done, Kelly was on it, knowing the correct business to contact and ensuring work was performed in a satisfactory manner.
  3. Even after we went to contract, Kelly continued to work tirelessly to ensure all was in order.  As the listing agent, Kelly had no direct responsibility to the buyers.  But when the buyers were dismayed with some of the items in the inspection report, Kelly took it upon herself to ensure anything that could be corrected was, in fact, corrected.  To the point of coming to my home and correcting some of the discrepancies herself.  She wanted the buyers to be “happy campers”.  Kelly enjoys an excellent professional reputation as a realtor.  She works assiduously to protect that reputation.  As a customer, I can attest that Kelly earns her accolades and ensures fairness to all parties.  Whether they be sellers or buyers.
